i'm a sexy knitter, but i need help with buttons
the SKC buttons. I need code to copy and paste. Can anyone help me with that? Or tell me another way toget the buttons on my site. I can't just copy and paste, I don't think.
You can also, once you have saved it to your computer, use a web based photo account, like Flickr - or Photo bucket - upload to that and use the address from that. You get the code by right clicking the pic - going to properties and then copying the address.
Okay, this is what I know about adding buttons. First, you definitely need to right click on the button and save it to your hard drive. Next, it depends on which blog server you use as to how you actually add it to your side bar. You're going to have to do a little research to see how your particular server has side bar stuff set up and then follow their directions. Wish it was easier than that...
Ok, first of all, i'm on Blogger, so I can only say for my particular group. Click on the image, and save it to your computer. Then you need to upload it again to the internet so you don't steal this group's bandwidth. I either upload pictures directly to my blog or use another service like yahoo photos, flickr, or my favorite is actually image shack (http://imageshack.us/) Leave the page up with your picture so you can copy and paste the new online adress into your code in a minute. Once you have done that, you're ready to set up your button.
It won't let me actually paste the html in here because it's trying to read it as code to do something. If you would like the exact thing I have on my blog, email me and I can try to send it to you.
That being said, here's how I figured out what to do. I am not familiar with html AT ALL, but was able to do it.
Look on your blog. Is there a button automatically put in to take people to the main page for your blog host ie: Blogger.com etc? If there is, you can use the code for this and modify it for your button. Open up your page so that you can see all of the html. This is the template tab in blogger. Scroll down until you see the sidebar section and find the line of code that lists the website for your blog host. Copy that entire line of code. Scroll up in the sidebar to where you want your link and paste the line there. Now we will do surgery. Delete the web adress at the begining of the line (blogger.com etc) and replace it with the adress for the sexyknitter's club. Next, there is a web adress at the end of the line of code that ends in .jpg or .gif or something. Replace that entire section starting with the " and ending with the " with the web adress for your picture (from yahoo, imageshack, whatever). Save the code, or preview it and make sure it is apearing right. You may have to adjust it a bit. If it isn't working, it's ok, you can always just delete that entire line.

Thanks so much for asking this! I was totally stumped too!
