No Bueno!

I know I'm WAY behind, but I need some serious help here!!

When I joined up with the Sexy Knitters' Club, I decided to knit Orangina. Glampyre has a kicky little pattern here, all cute, and sexy too. I pretty sure this falls into none of those categories:

Granted, the photo's not that great. I'm finally a TRUE knit blogger, having taken pictures of myself under the key conditions:
1. Late at night...
2. In some stage of either a. undress or b. jammie-dress...
3. Headless...
4. In the bathroom mirror...
5. With either a. flash reflection or b. camera shadow... (extra points for both)
6. Wearing a piece of (partially) knit-wear in some stage of construction.

I'm not too sure where to go with this one. I have some ideas. I could keep going as planned and knit from here down in ribbing. I could keep going in the lace pattern and figure out a way to add in waist shaping; basically creating a new pattern of a lace shell. I could frog and do either of these ideas in a bigger, (more boob-friendly) size. I could frog and find something else to do with the yarn. Oy. Given that I want a top I will actually wear, and, ideally, admit to having made, this turn of events is NO BUENO.

What would you do?

I don't really see the problem. You look good in it.
Very sexy.

but if you are unhappy I sugest that you just frog the entire thing. since you can't do much with how it sits this far.

I had the same problem with mine, my boobs are too big and my torso is too long. I ended up knitting 15-16 inches in the lace pattern and 6 inches of ribbing and it seems to look like it might work...of course I still have to block and seam it.
Hang in there and know others with similar body types feel your same pain! :0)

I see the problem, it doesn't make it to the side seam. if you were to stretch it to the point of the side seam, it wouldn't make it over the boobs. What I did is, when I got to the point of the underarm I cast on the width of one repeat each side - which added enough to go over the boobs. What I forgot to take into account is that her 9" down took into account the part that goes under the arm, so my armhole depth is too deep. If I were to make this top again I would do the cast on at 7" or maybe 8" down.

it's nice to know I'm not the only one halfway thru an orangina right now! heehee. :) like tekopp, I think it looks great too! I wanted mine to be more fitted (I think it was meant to be loose fitting, if I were to judge from the pattern picture) and it looks like it might be fitting the same way as yours. of course, I don't really have much boobage... anyway, I think it looks good, but if you don't like how it's turning out, I would frog it. but it sounds like you just don't like the way it's fitting? I think it can be blocked out bigger than it's current size, so if you just do a few more inches of lace and then switch over to the ribbing, and then block it out to the size you want, maybe it will be ok. but I guess that depends on what you're going for. good luck!! :)
I think this is officially the longest comment I've ever left. :P

I think it looks great and you should just continue on! When you get to the blocking stage you can add a little more width in the bust area. Lace can be blocked a GREAT deal wider than it is on the needles.
