and I feel like I'm getting NOWHERE! The first 6" flew by and now I'm getting dizzy! I keep looking at the pictures of the BEAUTIFUL ones that you all have finished - so I'll keep chugging away. (Mmm, maybe that will help. A little "chugging" while I knit?). I'm using the TLC Cotton in Medium Blue and I really do like the look and feel of the yarn. When I get to the sleeves, I think I may try one of the alternate methods listed here. I'm not very strong at sewing the pieces together. I've also got a terrible feeling that it's not going to fit. Do some of you try it on as you're knitting it? How DO you DO it?
Thanks for the inspiration!

your sweater looks great--not far to go now! it's very encouraging to try on your work. just use a yarn needle to weave a long piece of scrap yarn (say, twice as long as your shoulders are around) through all the stitches, taking them off the circular knitting needle as you go. then you can try it on, and the scrap yarn will keep all your stitches intact.
Yes! Definitely try it on. I just use another long circular need and put half of the stitches on that. Put rubberbands (or needle protectors) on all four ends and then let the try-on commence. Doesn't take too long, and it gives you a huge boost in confidence for the rest of the k2p2 when you know what you've done already actually fits.
I'm right there with you in endless ribbing land. I feel like I knit for days and it looks exactly the same- so thanks for your inspiration because now I know I'm not the only one!
