Rusted Root

I am jumping back into the KAL this time after a long absence (I started but never finished the Somewhat Cowl) to work on Rusted Root. My drug of choice for this garment is Lion Brand Cottonease, which is cheap and in abundance at Michael's.

I wanted a really bright color for this knit and originally was going to use the cotton fleece as the pattern suggests but my LYS doesn't carry a wide range of colors, I didn't want to order online, I didn't want to spend a lot of money AND I wanted to work with cottonease again so I am going with the color Lake. Even though it is not bright I can still wear it in the fall and winter with a long-sleeved shirt so I am happy about that.

Let me know how you like that cotton ease. I've never used it before and I'd love to do my rusted root in it also. Thanks.

I actually like cottonease. I made a one skein wonder with it for my mom and she and I both loved how it came out. Its very soft, washes well, has a nice drape so I think it will do well with this knit.

I just crocheted a sweater with Cottonease and love the yarn. I also make chemo caps with it.

I might just try the Rusted Root with it. :)

Nifty! I was thinking the Lion brand organic cotton for Sahara, but it is rather...limited...in color choices. I'll have to compare the two(organic vs. cottonease) at the store and see which I like better.

I saw your post yesterday and swung by my local Michaels. As a self proclaimed fiber snob, this stuff feels good on the skin, in the hands and I can make the whole sweater for under $20. My store did not have a huge selection of colors though. I chose an soft green.

Waaaaaaaah! My Michael's does not have CottonEase! I keep checking and asking. You are so lucky!
