Sahara progress

Here is my Sahara. I've started the neckline lace last night and hope to finish that by tomorrow. Then I will make myself do the 2nd sleeve. I love this yarn and I'm very pleased with the beads. The sleeves are a little tight and I think the sweater may be also. It's so hard to tell when trying on with the front open like it is. Having put on 20 pounds, I plan on taking that off this summer so the sweater won't be snug next fall when I get a chance to wear it!

It looks lovely and I love the color! May I ask what yarn you are using?

I'm drooling over this. What yarn and color did you use. I have to make this one day.

Nevermind. I saw the previous post with that lovely yarn.

I am using Handmaiden's Great Big Sea which is 50% silk, 30% wool and 20% lyocel. The color is called Pumpkin. It seems difficult to find but I saw it in a LYS when I was visiting Chicago. I called them when I got home and had them send it to me!

Still love your Sahara! I think it's one of the prettiest I've seen online. Looking forward to seeing it finished. It IS weird trying it on without the neckline border (but my husband quite liked it that way!).

How many skeins of GBS did you use for what size?

aaaaahhhh...oooooohhh....sigh*

That is the most gorgeous version I have seen. ( I'm a sucker for oranges & reds)

That will be STUNNING when complete!

Great work ;)

I purchased 4 skeins--100 gms. each. I am still on my 3rd skein so I will have some left over. I am making size small.
