Tree Jacket Progress

Hi everyone,
I'm loving this pattern - it is such a fun knit. Here's my progress so far; I'm using the Knit Picks Andean Silk that they used to make the sample sweater, but in Hyacinth. It is a vibrant violet-blue color, which doesn't show up perfectly in the pictures.

When I start the sleeves, I think I am going to make them in the lace pattern instead of garter stitch. Kinda like the Eiffel look. Remember that one?

For more pics, see my blog.

I love it. It's beautiful! I think lace on the sleeves will work very nicely too. :D

I notice your lace pattern is spiralling a bit - my neck is doing that too. Is it meant to spiral or should the lace lines be vertical? Love the colour, and nice idea to do the lace pattern on the sleeve - I'm going to consider that idea for mine.

Thanks to Kate!

Sackie, I think it is supposed to spiral. I think the ones I've seen do that too. If not, it does now b/c I'm not changing it!

I'll definitely take a look at the Andean Silk, now....the world needs more vibrant, violet-blue!

It makes sense that the lace pattern should spiral, though I never really noticed it before now. I suppose there are some modifications you could make if you don't want the spiral, like a slip-k2tog-slip passed stitch over in the between the yarn overs. Or you could even make them zig-zag by changing the decreases you do. Lots of possibilities. But I think it looks pretty slanting to the right.
