Juliet

Hi folks....Here's my version of Juliet. I know the KAL just got started, but I finished her last week and figured I'd share my thoughts. It's a *very* quick knit, and I scaled it waaaaaay down...casting on only 60 stitches at the neck. I feel that a smaller fit is more flattering on me when it comes to the trapeze /~\ shape. So, when it came time to increase stitches for the lace portion below the "waist", I only increased a few stitches to get the number appropriate for the pattern repeats. Less poof at the lace panel meant less bulk there as well, and I like the fit that way. If you're not into the poof there either, you may want to reduce the number of lace repeats in the lower half. The garter stitch strrrrretches vertically, so keep that in mind when knitting this one up, too.
I used 5 skeins of Reynolds Rapture (merino-silk blend...knit with one strand instead of two). I love the sweater and have worn it twice already:)

thanks for the tips. I noticed on Ravelry a number of knitters mentioned that the pattern ran large. I hadn't thought to adjust the increases but now i think i'll give that a second look.

It's beautiful! I love the color, and the buttons are very cute. :)

Thanks for sharing your experience! I am considering knitting this one smaller than my usual size, because I like the way your fits you :) Looks great and you did a wonderful job!

Beautiful! Love the way you did the buttons too, it's a cute alternative to the regular button alignment. I, too, am using Rapture, and I'm hoping you can answer a query for me. Even though I've knit in the round many times before, this is the first time I've noticed that even though each row is Knit, somehow my wrong side is stockinette. Is yours that way too? Seems so odd to me. I'm thinking I've done something wrong that I don't have both sides that have garter bumps. Anyone know if this is a side effect of working in the round? Makes no sense that I've not done one single purl stitch yet have stockinette on one side.
