Don't panic, tis only me!
This may sound a silly question (and I suspect I may be asking more of them over time...) - this is the first time I have taken part in a KAL - does it matter that I haven't started yet, when so many are finished or well into their knitting? Do I have to beat myself severely around the head & get a move on?

I just started on it lastnight, so I'm in the same boat. =)
I started a week late, because I was waiting for my yarn to arrive. No biggie, start when you can!
Thank you all, will get the pattern ordered asap & start eyeing up some yarn! Bad move though today, just bought 2 new knitting books, & am sitting here thinking ooooh yes, that next, & then that...I need more holidays, half term isn't enough!
I'm still waiting for that little brown box from Knit Picks to arrive with my yarn, so you aren't alone. :) Maybe today.......
