Opinions Please

This was my SBK this morning.

(Don'cha just LOVE the no-flash-bathroom-in-your-jammie-bottoms shots???)

Anyway... Since this morning I've knit another 4 or 5 inches onto the bottom and am planning on making the sweater about the same length as the brown top I've got on underneath. Problem is that the spot that the sweater will end is just about the widest part of my hips -- I'm afraid that knitting two ridge rows at this spot on my hips will draw attention to that area making me look even hippier than I already am. I'm thinking about forgoing the two bottom ridge rows and making a turned hem instead. What do y'all think? What would y'all do?

With that neckline, no one will be looking at your hips! I wouldn't worry!

What hips?? You're kidding right?

I know what you are saying though, and that would be a concern for me as well. I'd go with the turned hem.

I think a turned hem would be just fine. And if that's what makes you comfortable, then go for it.

This looks fantastic. What yarn did you use? I'm still looking for the right yarn before I begin. I love this sweater.

I think a turned hemn would be fine, and honestly, I wouldn't make it much longer than in your picture there. I like those proportions.

I ripped a few rows out so it didnt fall on that AREA> I know what you mea, im like 112 pounds people tell me to shut up all the time, but even little people have some fat or hips! lol

I realized it doesn't have to be super long, and it still is past my

your sweater should end right around your hipbone to be most flattering. i think you should end it where it is right now. it looks lovely!

I like the edge on the pattern. What do think about ripping back a few rows (gasp!) and add the edge. I think it'll be too long if you make it as long as your brown shirt and the proportions will be off. Shoot for the hip bone, that's my 2 cents.

Another option is to bind off, then do a row of single crochet around the bottom to keep it from curling. It is the most minimalist of options and will add no bulk at all. A turned hem will add a bit of thickness to that part of your silhouete.

I like my sweaters long, too. Ending at my hipbone is fine if I'm going to be standing all day, but if I sit my lower back feels a little drafty.

Agree with everyone else on the hipbone - I'd end it there!
