My questions is similar to the previous one, but slightly different. :D
I'm also a 36 bust measurement. I plan on wearing this over another shirt. Like a collared button down. So should I go up to the 39? Or will that be too much excess fabric? I like things to hug the body, but you know, not be to trashy. ;)

I'm not a part of the SKC but I do keep an eye on it--hope it's OK to post here! I made sizzle a few weeks ago (with shine sport from knitpicks.com) and I am a solid 36" chest (maybe even 37" realistically). I made the 34" and it is very snug. I wouldn't be able to fit another shirt under it, I know that much.
You may want to adapt the pattern slightly to end up with more room in the chest area. It does fit well on the bottom though, and I do have a little bit of a gut.
Hope that helps a little bit!
I'd do the larger size - shirts can take up quite a lot of room underneath, as I found out when I made a vest not long ago (it's now destined for the frog pond and may be reborn again as a sizzle)
ah, yes... the yarn. I was thinking maybe a wool. LIke cascade 220. Since it's winter 97% of the time here, and I'm always cold, wool would be my happy choice. I know this will change the drape of the finished garment. Maybe I'll play around with it a bit.
If you want something warm and soft that has good drape and will work for this (at least my swatch tells me it will!) you could go with KnitPicks Andean Treasure. I am itching to cast on, but need to finish up a dishcloth that I was using my needles for! OY!
Oo! I like that idea! I tihnk I have a tone of that sitting around in my yarn room...er... craft room.
It's in wild rose. I may have to swatch tonight! :D Thanks so much!
