So, I finished a sweater for a friend for Christmas, and finally finished it. It was a simple sweater, but made with alpaca from Alpaca with a twist. To have you fully understand my crying fit...the sweater was a 2x size. Ok, so, I finished it, and put it into the wash on COLD, delicate to rince out all the oils and stuff from my hands...I do this to all my stuff...and.IT happened.
OH MY GOSH...I am not exageratting at all...it will fit a size 2 child. It was in the wash for 5 minutes...on COLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in shock. I really messed up...oh brother.
So, I was wondering...does anyone have any ideas what I can make out of a really expensive, very fuzzy small sweater? I cannot bear to throw it away...maybe a purse???

No little girls...I am so sad....Maybe a pillow? Who knows...
One of my first projects was an asymmetrical mock cable vest from Loop d Loop with one-of-a-kind multicolored pencil roving. And DH washed it, on cold so he thought it'd be okay. It wasn't and while it didn't shrink to unwearable proportions (it was oversized), it did lose all its pretty stitch definition and didn't fit the same at all. In the end I decided to felt it further and sewed the bottom and made a cute handbag in which you can't see any of the hard-earned stitch patterning, but at least I can enjoy the yarn and have a useful object. If you want to see pics, just comment on my blog sometime. I think I have them on flickr. Good luck!
I'd ask around. Perhaps you have a good friend/family member who has a two year old to buy for, maybe they'll buy it from you. Otherwise save it for the perfect baby shower gift someday. That's a sad story though...you can use my shoulder anytime for a cry like that.
Oh, so sorry to hear that, it's really rotten to have something like that happen.
I'd try and turn it into a bag, definitely. Good luck!
