*Sigh* I want to join the KAL but don't know if it's in the cards
Ok, here's my deal. I really want to join the KAL, because I love the pattern, BUT I'm currently pregnant (due in march). Yes you can be massively pregnant and still sexy, at least my husband thinks so.
This means that I can't get exact measurements for the sweater (I could guestimate) and won't be able to actually wear it until mid March. I don't know if it's worth making the sweater before my gigantic stomach disapears. I can't even post an after pic for you guys.
What do you all think? Is it worth guestimating?

I think you should go for it.
I think you should go for it, too. Maybe you could use a prepregnancy top with a fit that you liked as a guide. I'm working on losing a few lbs at the momment, and I'm planning on using one of my favorite tops that fit perfectly when I was at my goal weight at a guide.
I totally agree with Amy and AggieLiz!
I don't agree. It's going to be a long time before you get down to your pre-pregnancy size. I don't want to be a downer but I know that after I had my kids nothing was more depressing than having a ton of clothes that didn't fit anymore. I can't imagine how down I'd feel if I spent a bunch of time making something that was supposed to make me feel sexy and then it didn't fit.
Even after you lose the baby weight your body will be different than it was before you had a baby. I got rid of a lot of stuff that fit but didn't fit right anymore.
I saw wait until you get to a comfortable stage after your pregnancy to make your sexy top. Chances are it will fit better that way which will make you feel even sexier!
-Sarah who knows pregnant women are sexy and moms can be sexy too!
Well, this is my 3rd baby (Currently have kids 4 and almost 2)...
So far I've been lucky getting back into my looser jeans within a few weeks. Has anyone made this sweater and know how stretchy it is? I plan on breast feeding again, so I know I'll have a larger bust size for quite a while (meaning I go up from a B to maybe a C...lol).
And it is true that your body changes. My hips will NEVER be the same size they were before the first 1. But I think that just makes me sexier. It adds more curve :)
If I wait until after the baby to start will I totally miss out on the KAL part?
Yes! Go for it. I am trying to lose weight and this is also good motivation.
And it might give you something fun for yourself in between taking care of your kids.
I don't know about missing the KAL part because I have never done one! You can always knit Picovoli but it might be more fun with everyone doing it together!
Our kids are about the same ages! Mine are 4 and 1 1/2.
This isn't going to be the only KAL we do there will be more. AS long as there are sexy patterns we'll have sexy KALs! So it's up to you fellow Hot Mama!
-Sarah who isn't doing this KAL for many varied reasons but can't wait for the next one.
I say make it to wear WHILE pregnant! It's top-down, so if you make the top portion to fit your bust as it is now (maybe adding a little wiggle room if you think that measurement will increase much more), it's not too hard to tweak the rest to fit over the baby. If you have a top you liked from the same stage of your last pregnancy, you could use those measurements as a guide, and just add increases where you need them. You could even add short rows to add length for the extra belly curvature if you're feeling particularly geeky. :)
I think Picovoli would be particularly curve-enhancing with a row of *k2tog, yo* eyelets for a sash, like Lelah has: (http://knittingforboozehags.com/freebirds/lelah-top).
The pattern is addictive (I've made two), so you may still want to make a post-pregnancy one, or even unravel this one from the bottom, and reknit the waist to be more fitted.
