Here is my Sahara, finally blocked and modelled!
I loved this yarn prior to blocking and I love it even more now! I was concerned that the sleeves were too tight and I was able to block them into shape perfectly. It feels luscious against the skin. The yarn is Handmaiden Great Big Sea Silk.
Now I have to finish Rusted Root which will be done in a couple of days! I'll be ready for the next KAL!

I've been waiting for this post. That is a gorgeous hand knit! I'm sure you'll love that for many years to come as I know I would if it were mine (green with envy). Is there somewhere to purchase that yarn online? I've looked and can't seem to place it.
YAY! I've been waiting for this post, too! Looks fabulous, and if I make a long sleeved Sahara, I'll be making it out of this yarn.
Gorgeous. You should be so proud.
Here are a few places I've found this yarn:
I purchased it at Loopy Yarns in Chicago. Website: www.loopyyarns.com.
The Sweet Sheep at http://www.thesweetsheep.com/xcart/home.php?cat=109 (This one is in Canada)
Red Bird Knits (also in Canada) http://www.redbirdknits.com/yarn/detail.php?Category=Yarn&name=Great%20Big%20Sea%20Silk
Pick Up Sticks (Canada) http://pickupsticks.ca/index.php?cPath=1_102_106&osCsid=58f4fae1a2757f8beb7730d2c713f69c
Dublin Bay (Portland, OR) http://www.dublinbay.net/
Knitty Noddy (in Oregon) http://www.knitty-noddy.com/index.php?option=com_phpshop&page=shop.kit_flypage&product_id=1711
They have the best prices. They will also special order any colorway that they don't carry.
The yarn I used is by Handmaiden --Great Big Sea. Sometimes it is listed under Fleece Artist Yarns.
Just gorgeous! Can you tell me how many skeins of Great Big Sea that you used? Was this for a size small/medium? Thanks!
This was size Small (the second size) and I used under 4 skeins--probably closer to 3 and 1/4. I still have a good size ball left of the 4th skein. I used the yardage to compute the amount needed. The gauge was a little off in terms of rows and I had to do more rows than called for on the pattern. I used the measurements to fit the garment.
Beautiful, beautiful Sahara! It fits you perfectly, too. It inspired me to keep on with my own, so thank you, Kozy Kitty!
