Something Red

Okay - I know this isn't the one we're doing, but I liked it soooo much better than the SKB, so I made it anyway.

I decided to make long sleeves to make it more seasonal and I'm happy with the way they turned out.

I would like to figure out a better way to block it to get all the ribbing to snug in a little closer - any ideas?

I LOVE it. This will now motivate me to do Something Red with the red wool I have tons of. Did the pattern include instructions for long sleeves, or did you "wing" it?

She does include directions for long sleeves, but I altered them a bit. I decreased one or two more times so the sleeves would be more snug and I also did 5" of ribbing for the cuffs - it keeps the 'attitude' of the sweater going.

I love the way yours turned out so well, I just ordered the pattern! I have two questions for you - what yarn did you use, and how much did you use for the long sleeve version?

I used Swish Superwash from knitpicks, I ordered 9 skeins, made the small size, and had to use very little of the 9th one.

A word of caution - if you get Swish Superwash - don't wash it!! It fuzzes & pills horribly. I had to spend about 2 hours with an electric fuzzbuster to get it looking decent again.
