Need some advice

Hi ladies!
I'm tackling my first big lace project after picovoli and it's driving me up the wall. Can any of you recommend a beginner's guide to lace knitting? I feel like a complete dummy. I just can't get my stitch count right. I always end up with more chart than stitches. Thanks! Alicia

Hey there! I'm not sure about any good sites for lace knitting (although I'm sure there are plenty out there) but I've done a little lace work and might be able to help you figure out what you're doing wrong. Feel free to email me at Jeanie@DiscountYarnSale.com.

Thanks so much! I'm definitely going to keep trying and taking breaks as needed. I'll get it eventually!

Stitch markers work well although depending on the size of the repeats you may want to use these every few rather than on every repeat. Rather than waiting until the end of the row you can count stitches in sections while you are getting comfortable with the pattern. I'd reccoment threat/floss loops rather than metal rings to prevent snagging. and Dental floss for the lifelines, it's easy to remove later. Good luck
