Corset Pullover

I've loved this pattern forever - and its done up in ArtYarns Regal Silk. Its an intermediate pattern with some charts involved - so it would be challenging for most people - but its beautiful.

Yowsa! That is stunning! Not sure I'd wear it much though.

The pattern has mistakes, FYI, even in the current edition.

Mine is bound off, I just have to muster up the energy to crochet the edging and sew on my buttons... >_<

I think there have been a few knit alongs for this pattern with LOTS of pics of real people in them. I believe there was (or is) even a Yahoo Group for the pattern. The original pattern is VERY challenging, but I believe I saw an easier version somewhere (can't remember where right now). Did anybody else see this?

Okay, I found it! It was on Knitty Gritty and is called the Combo Corset-T! The pattern is a simplified version of the original Silk Corset top and is FREE here (pdf)!

i'm currently knitting this (about 3/4 finished). i wouldn't call it very challenging...not appropriate for a brand new knitter, but it's all one piece and there's nothing too odd. the instructions are very detailed. written directions as well as charts are given, though for much of it the pattern was obvious so i didn't have to look at the instructions too closely. i think it's worth the extra effort to do this rather than the simplified version, but perhaps people could have the option to do either?

Gosh I love this pattern. Could you just imagine it in a deep red or a dark blue?
I would love to make this pattern! I think everyone could do a variation on this and look good in it.
Plus, it looks like it would not be all "mindless" knitting..which is a good thing in my book!
