Started Bella

Wow, talk about creative! This pattern is definitely outside the box. No wonder Marnie's stuff is so amazing. It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do but I think I'm getting it. I had to really think about which way to make the increases since it's up to us and that reminded me of Annie Modesitt's and EZ's philosophies about leaving the "how" to the knitter. I am loving it so far. I decided not to be too anal and am just highlighting the row just finished on the chart so my eye knows where to fall. That worked for the mystery stole 3 although on that one I also had vertical lines every 10 stitches cause there was so much going on. Well I just thought I'd connect with my fellow (addicts) knitters. Enjoy!

What yarn are you using? I'm still at the pick out my yarn stage. Sometimes this is where I get most overwhelmed. And sadly, this has been the choice that has led me to not complete KALs in the past.

I just started mine! I am using the same technique of highlighting each row as I finish it. It takes a little more time, but I think it will be well worth it in the end!

I started mine a few days ago as well. I am actually using the suggested technique of writing out the rows where something happens. I've already finished the top part and working on the first sleeve now! :)

I have the yarn for Bella, but I am making Giselle first. I bought Elann Incense for Bella. It is a delightful blend of 50% merino, 25% silk, 25% bamboo. I think anything with merino will have nice shape retention and it will show off the lace detail nicely. This yarn was very inexpensive which was an added bonus!

I just ordered my yarn (Classic Elite Miracle, wonder how itll work with BP) and I'm waiting on it to come. I don't have much experience with adult tops, so I'll be reading the pattern in the interim, seeing if I have any questions!

I'm jumping into my first KAL with Bella Paquita, am still ogling instructions for Giselle, can't seem to make up my mind about the yarn. The Elann Incense seems to be a great choice--I've used it before, and it's a lovely fiber.

I'm using Elann Pure Peruvian Alpaca in a reddish brown. It was left over from the fitted bodice KAL that I never got off the ground. I'm a little worried about it stretching out but it's so pretty I'm hoping for the best. Aurelie, don't drive yourself crazy, just pick something that maybe matches something already in your wardrobe and go for gauge. THat Incence yarn does sound nice. Is bamboo like cotton in feel? Giselle looks hard. I'll be interested to hear how that's going. Knit On!

I'm using Cascade Venezia (the worsted version) in a beautiful bright blue shade for Bella Paquita. I like the drape that the silk gives the merino, and so far, I'm managing the gauge issue by using a lighter weight yarn than suggested.
