Hi Sarah! I think perhaps you are the same person that posted earlier, but just in case you aren't.... The nominations are actually *not* the voting process. They are just for people to see what they will be voting on, so that they have a chance to look at all the patterns before deciding which one they like. There will be an official poll later on.
