Anyone doing decreases on their SC?

My Somewhat Cowl is coming along pretty well, but I think it's going to need some waist shaping to look its best. Unfortunately, i'm a by the pattern kind of knitter, and I don't really have any great ideas. All I know is I want some subtle decrease along the sides (no darts). Any suggestions? Also, I'm one of those who has 14 fewer stitches in front than in back (90 vs 104) after joining. Is it going to look really wierd?
